Building a Global Model of Inclusion

Donate Today

Welcome to the Centro Inclusión Global Movement!

My name is Carlos Del Rio Mejia, M.A. and I was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Monte Plata.

Like many families, we dreamed of opportunity beyond what was available locally. I moved to the United States, where I pursued my education and built my professional career.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and later a Master’s degree in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis.

In New Jersey, I volunteered with Special Olympics.

In Arizona, I worked in schools, clinics, and homes supporting children with disabilities and their families.

I served as a Special Education Teacher.
I worked in clinical behavioral settings.
At one point, I was serving over 100 students per week.

I witnessed what structured, evidence based intervention can do when systems are in place.

And the entire time, one question stayed with me.

Why is this not accessible back home?

So I came back.

Not to visit.
Not to observe.
But to build.

Fundación Centro Inclusión is my commitment to bringing that structure, that expertise, and those blessings back to the community that raised me.

The Story That Made It Personal

I grew up alongside my cousin Jansel Joel Mejia.

Jansel was diagnosed with multiple disabilities as a child. He was non verbal. He struggled with aggression. His family had to travel two hours just to receive one hour of services.

Two hours for one hour of help.

I have worked in systems where children receive 30 hours of therapy per week as a standard.

Jansel received one hour after a four hour round trip.

Without consistent intervention, he became fully dependent on his family. Today, he cannot live independently. His mother carries that weight every day.

No family should have to navigate that alone.

This mission is not just professional for me.

It is personal.

This Is Bigger Than One City

According to the World Health Organization, over 1 billion people worldwide live with some form of disability, and access to healthcare and education remains dramatically limited in low income regions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 1 in 36 children is identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

UNESCO reports that children with disabilities are 2.5 times more likely to never attend school compared to children without disabilities.

This is not a small gap.

It is systemic.

Monte Plata deserves a solution.
The world deserves a model.

This Is the Pilot Not the Limit

Monte Plata is the starting point.

We are building this center as a pilot model structured, measured, refined, and documented so it can be replicated.

Once the system is proven, the vision expands:

• Across the Dominican Republic
• Throughout Latin America
• Into underserved communities in Africa and Asia

Your support today builds the prototype for a global network of inclusion centers.

Inclusion should not depend on geography.
It should be accessible everywhere.

With faith as our foundation, we believe what begins in Monte Plata can impact nations.

Our Institutional Commitment

Fundación Centro Inclusión is being established as a legally governed, structured organization designed to provide:

• Evidence based therapies
• Specialized education
• Emotional and behavioral support
• Workforce training for local youth

This is not a temporary initiative.

It is an institution in formation built with governance, documentation, and sustainability at its core.

Become a Founding Supporter

We are inviting 100 founding supporters to give 100 dollars to help cover our legal formation and licensing costs.

If 100 dollars is not possible for you, give what you can.

Every contribution builds this foundation.
